rubyni® Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12: Your companion for more energy in everyday life

Have you been feeling tired and listless lately and are you finding it difficult to concentrate? Then there may be more to it than that – you may be lacking an important vital substance: vitamin B12.

Vitamin B12 fulfils several vital functions in your body. It helps to keep your energy metabolism stable, supports your mental performance – and is essential for the formation of red blood cells.

Your body can temporarily store vitamin B12. However, when the reserves decrease and the daily intake is lacking, the first signs such as exhaustion or concentration difficulties usually become noticeable gradually. With rubyni® vitamin B12, you can specifically prevent a deficiency – naturally, vegan and well tolerated.

rubyni® Vitamin B12: Active vitamin B12 from a natural source

  • Supports cell division and haematopoiesis2
  • Contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and is also essential for your psyche3

  • One capsule provides you with 2.5 micrograms (µg) of vitamin B12
  • 100% vegan, lactose- and gluten-free, 100% organic

rubyni® Vitamin B12 can help you to cover your daily vitamin B12 requirement from a natural and vegan source.

Vitamin B12 is produced in nature by microorganisms and is normally only found in relevant quantities in animal foods.2 But for our rubyni® vitamin B12 capsules, we have found a way to obtain the important vital substance purely vegan: We use high-quality shiitake mushrooms5 as a source.

Our capsules contain vitamin B12 in various natural forms that can be directly utilised by the body. Absorption in the body is additionally supported by the high-quality ingredients of our organic kamut grass juice. It is found in powder form in rubyni® Vitamin B12.

How much vitamin B12 does your body need?

To avoid a B12 deficiency, you should consume a certain amount of the vital substance with your food every day. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) provides specific estimates for this: It recommends an intake of 4 micrograms (µg) of vitamin B12 per day for both men and women. Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers have a higher requirement.2

The recommendation of the European Union (EU) is slightly lower than that of the DGE: it is 2.5 micrograms of vitamin B12 per day. This value is the so-called nutrient reference value (NRV for short). It is used as a guide in the manufacture of food supplements when it comes to the dosage of vitamins and minerals.6

Well supplied with rubyni® Vitamin B12

One capsule of rubyni® Vitamin B12 provides you with 2.5 micrograms of vitamin B12 – that is 100 % according to NRV*. We recommend that adults take one capsule a day unchewed and with sufficient liquid if there is reason to believe that the intake of B12 from food is insufficient.

Note: The stated recommended daily intake must not be exceeded.
*NRV = nutrient reference value (for adults according to the Food Information Regulation (LMIV))

rubyni® Vitamin B12 at a glance: What’s in our capsules

rubyni® Vitamin B12 contains vitamin B12 from a purely vegan source: high-quality shiitake mushrooms.

Vitamin B12 is also called cobalamin by experts. rubyni® Vitamin B12 provides you with a complex of different forms of this important vitamin. These include the forms methylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. They are characterised by the fact that your body can utilise them well.

Pack size: 90 capsules – in a tin made from recycled PET.

Note: Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or to replace a healthy lifestyle.

Sustainably and gently extracted

We obtain the raw material for our rubyni® vitamin B12 from the shiitake mushroom (Lentinula edodes), which many people recognise as a tasty edible mushroom in Asian dishes. Vitamin B12 is extracted from the mushrooms in a multi-stage, gentle process. We standardise our product – this means that each capsule contains the same amount of vitamin B12. This enables us to provide you with consistent quality at all times.

The shiitake mushrooms we use for rubyni® vitamin B12 come from north-east India. When extracting the raw materials, the well-being of the environment is important to us. That’s why we use mushrooms that are grown on logs under sustainable conditions and are traditionally and 100% organically farmed.

For the organic kamut grass juice powder, we use freshly harvested kamut grass, which is also grown sustainably and organically. Thanks to a special drying process, almost all the vitamins and minerals are retained in the powder. It therefore has raw food quality.

Good to know:

Vitamin B12: for energy, nerve function and the psyche

Your body can store vitamin B12 in the liver, among other places – and use its supply for various metabolic processes as required. However, if the store is empty and you don’t get enough vitamin B12 from your diet, a variety of symptoms can occur. They usually develop gradually.2

Many processes in your body depend on sufficient vitamin B12 being available. For example, the vital substance is also a basic building block for your immune system and plays an important role in cell division.

Vitamin B12 is also involved in the formation of red blood cells – the cells that transport vital oxygen throughout the body. A vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to anaemia. As a result, organs and cells are no longer supplied with sufficient oxygen. Noticeable consequences can be tiredness, weakness, palpitations or shortness of breath.1,2

Strong nerves thanks to vitamin B12

Your nerves are also dependent on a sufficient supply of vitamin B12. This is because the vital substance is needed to build up the insulating layer that surrounds the nerves. If there is not enough vitamin B12 available, this can lead to serious damage to the nerves. Possible symptoms include discomfort, such as tingling in the legs. However, concentration problems and memory impairment can also occur with a vitamin B12 deficiency.1,2

Your psyche cannot do without this important vital substance either: A low vitamin B12 level can increase the risk of developing depression. A study has also shown that taking vitamin B12 can improve the effect of antidepressant medication.7
And did you know that your heart can also suffer from a vitamin B12 deficiency? The vitamin is a natural antagonist of the amino acid homocysteine. If there is an undersupply of vitamin B12, the level of homocysteine in the blood rises. This can lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.8

Who is at increased risk of vitamin B12 deficiency9?

Vitamin B12 is mainly found in animal foods, for example in meat, fish and seafood. People who eat a vegetarian or vegan diet in particular are therefore more likely to be deficient in this important vital nutrient. 2

At an advanced age, the human body is no longer able to utilise vitamin B12 from food as well. This is due to the fact that the stomach then naturally produces smaller amounts of the so-called intrinsic factor. This is a transport protein that is necessary for the absorption of vitamin B12.9,10

However, there are other reasons that can lead to vitamin B12 being less easily absorbed by the body. These include, for example, inflammation of the stomach or intestinal mucosa – or the intake of certain medicines. These include the diabetes medication metformin or stomach-protecting proton pump inhibitors (PPI for short).11,12

Regardless of the reasons for your reduced B12 supply: rubyni® vitamin B12 can help you to cover your daily requirements in a purely vegan way.

convinced by rubyni®

As a former professional athlete and health-conscious person, my physical performance and well-being are extremely important to me. That's why I take rubyni® with elderberry - it's now part of my daily routine. I am convinced of the positive effects of elderberries on my immune system, my energy balance and my fitness, especially during regeneration after periods of stress

I work as a nutrition and health consultant and am a trained phytotherapist. Transparency, sustainability, and quality are very important to me. And I have to say that rubyni® has completely convinced me as a brand. The capsules contain only extremely high-quality and natural ingredients whose effectiveness has been proven by studies and which supply the body with important nutrients. On my YouTube channel Ohlala & Solala I have published some videos about my personal rubyni® journey. There I share even more about what makes this supplement so special from my point of view.

As a biathlete, I have to be in top shape and perform to the letter. I had big problems with that in the past. My body was always weakened and I had to accept many setbacks. When I was looking for a solution to support my immune system permanently, I found elderberries as a superfood through my alternative practitioner. In the meantime, I take rubyni® with elderberries daily. The capsules are also super handy when I'm on the road in the World Cup. rubyni® is a valuable help for me in stressful competition phases and my immune system is finally back on top.

For more than 25 years, my focus has been on holistic, naturopathic medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional and biological topics. During this time, I have intensively studied current research findings (e.g. on orthomolecular medicine, epigenetics, nutrigenomics, phytotherapy). I found rubyni's philosophy of using total extracts with the complete efficacy profile of the entire fruit matrix exciting and convincing from the very beginning. That's why I was happy to take on the task of developing new products that would contain rubyni , but at the same time - in the sense of a synergism of effects - other ingredients for a specific purpose. rubyni® Visio now contains carefully coordinated ingredients that are specially formulated to meet the specific needs of the eyes. Valuable plant extracts and micronutrients have been combined to form a high-quality dietary supplement. This helps to maintain eye health and support vision.
