rubyni® Silicium
Silicon: the power of bamboo for skin, hair, nails and connective tissue
When most people hear the word bamboo, they think of evergreen forests in East Asia – or of crunchy shoots that give Asian dishes the necessary bite.
But did you know that bamboo shoots also have a valuable ingredient? They naturally contain a lot of silicon. This trace element is said to strengthen the skin, hair, bones and nails and strengthen connective tissue.
rubyni® Silicium provides you with high-quality silicon from a natural source: Our capsules contain the valuable ingredients of bamboo, millet and horsetail.

How much silicon does your body need?
Silicon – also known as silicon – is a common element on earth. At around 1.4 grams, your body only contains small amounts of it – but this valuable trace element is found in almost every cell. Your bones and connective tissue are particularly rich in silicon. Together they support your body and give it structure.1
In the earth and as rock, the trace element is present in a form that your body cannot utilise. It therefore needs the help of plants: they absorb silicon from the soil and store it as silicon dioxide or as silicic acid – a compound of silicon and oxygen. Your body can utilise both forms for its own purposes.
But how much silicon do women and men need every day? There are currently no official recommendations on this. However, experts suggest an intake of at least 25 mg of silicon per day.4
Well supplied with rubyni® Silicium
One capsule of rubyni® Silicium contains 146 milligrams of bamboo extract, 61 milligrams of millet concentrate and 50 milligrams of horsetail extract – each in powder form. Together, this results in 61 mg of silicon per capsule.
Recommended dosage: We recommend that adults take one capsule of rubyni® Silicium per day with plenty of water and without chewing.
Note: The recommended daily intake must not be exceeded.
rubyni® Silicium at a glance: What’s in our capsules
rubyni® Silicium is a food supplement made from three high-quality plant-based raw materials that naturally contain silicon. It is therefore 100 % vegan.
Ingredients:
- Bamboo shoot extract (from Bambusa vulgaris)
- Millet concentrate (from the husks of Panicum miliaceum)
- Horsetail herb extract (from Equisetum arvense)
- Coating agent hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (plant-based capsule shell)
In our capsules, the silicon is bound to a plant matrix. This means that it is combined with other natural components, such as secondary plant substances. This can lead to possible synergistic effects. Such effects occur, among other things, when the ingredients support and reinforce each other.5 For example, the body can better absorb the trace element. This is also called good bioavailability.
Packaging: 90 capsules – in a recycled PET can.
Note: food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or to replace a healthy lifestyle.

gently extracted from nature
The silicon contained in our rubyni® silicon capsules comes from three raw materials of plant origin. Each is characterised by a high natural silicon content.
Our most important source is bamboo shoots from East Asia. Bamboo is a fast-growing type of grass and the shoots are its young shoots. They are surrounded by a hard ‘shell’ of leaves. This consists of up to 75 per cent silicon.
Another ingredient in our capsules is millet, which we use in the form of a concentrate. It contains 4 per cent silicon and 11 per cent silicic acid. The millet comes from Germany, Austria and Hungary.
The third ingredient in our rubyni® Silicium capsules is horsetail. It is one of the oldest plants on earth and also has a high silica content.
Our three raw materials are processed gently. This means that with rubyni® Silicium we can always supply you with consistently high quality.
Good to know:
Silicon: for bone density and strong skin and nails
Without silicon, plants would lack the necessary stability: The trace element helps them to have sturdy stems and leaves. Experts believe that it fulfils a very similar function in the human body. Silicon is often associated with structure, stability and flexibility. These are all valuable properties that are very important for many types of tissue in the body – especially connective tissue, skin, hair and nails as well as bones.1
But what exactly is the effect of silicon on the human body? There is a whole series of scientific studies on this. They suggest positive effects of the trace element 6 – especially for the bones.7 For example, there is evidence that bone density improves in men and younger women if they are well supplied with silicon.8 This is because it promotes the production of collagen, a valuable component of connective tissue.6-9 And bones are also a form of connective tissue.
Silicon also stimulates the production of elastin – another special component of connective tissue. Among other things, it is responsible for keeping the skin elastic. Silicon can also improve the skin’s ability to retain moisture.1 This is because it supports the formation of special substances that bind water.9 Silicon therefore helps to give the skin a younger appearance with fewer wrinkles.
Silicon: the antagonist of aluminium
Scientists link the intake of aluminium with the development of Alzheimer’s disease. You ingest the element through drinking water or cookware containing aluminium, for example.10 Silicon is a natural antagonist of aluminium: the trace element can reduce the bioavailability of aluminium. This means that the body absorbs less of the harmful element when sufficient silicon is present. Silicon can therefore reduce the risk of developing dementia. However, this positive effect only applies to the form of dementia caused by an excessive intake of aluminium.11-13

convinced by rubyni®
As a former professional athlete and health-conscious person, my physical performance and well-being are extremely important to me. That's why I take rubyni® with elderberry - it's now part of my daily routine. I am convinced of the positive effects of elderberries on my immune system, my energy balance and my fitness, especially during regeneration after periods of stress

I work as a nutrition and health consultant and am a trained phytotherapist. Transparency, sustainability, and quality are very important to me. And I have to say that rubyni® has completely convinced me as a brand. The capsules contain only extremely high-quality and natural ingredients whose effectiveness has been proven by studies and which supply the body with important nutrients. On my YouTube channel Ohlala & Solala I have published some videos about my personal rubyni® journey. There I share even more about what makes this supplement so special from my point of view.

As a biathlete, I have to be in top shape and perform to the letter. I had big problems with that in the past. My body was always weakened and I had to accept many setbacks. When I was looking for a solution to support my immune system permanently, I found elderberries as a superfood through my alternative practitioner. In the meantime, I take rubyni® with elderberries daily. The capsules are also super handy when I'm on the road in the World Cup. rubyni® is a valuable help for me in stressful competition phases and my immune system is finally back on top.

For more than 25 years, my focus has been on holistic, naturopathic medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional and biological topics. During this time, I have intensively studied current research findings (e.g. on orthomolecular medicine, epigenetics, nutrigenomics, phytotherapy). I found rubyni's philosophy of using total extracts with the complete efficacy profile of the entire fruit matrix exciting and convincing from the very beginning. That's why I was happy to take on the task of developing new products that would contain rubyni , but at the same time - in the sense of a synergism of effects - other ingredients for a specific purpose. rubyni® Visio now contains carefully coordinated ingredients that are specially formulated to meet the specific needs of the eyes. Valuable plant extracts and micronutrients have been combined to form a high-quality dietary supplement. This helps to maintain eye health and support vision.
