rubyni® Vitamin C
Vitamin C: An important building block for more energy and vitality
What comes to mind when you hear the term vitamin C? Most people spontaneously think of a lemon or orange. However, there are fruits that score with far more vitamin C. These include the acerola cherry and amla, the Indian gooseberry.
Vitamin C fulfils many important tasks in your body. It not only plays a fundamental role for the immune system, but also for your energy metabolism: the vital substance can help to banish tiredness – and thus act as a real freshness kick. Your connective tissue is also dependent on vitamin C. Among other things, you need it for beautiful skin and healthy joints and bones.
When freshly harvested, many types of fruit and vegetables contain plenty of vitamin C. However, they often have to travel a long way before they end up on your plate. Their vitamin content can decrease significantly. With rubyni® vitamin C capsules, you can prevent a vitamin C deficiency – naturally, vegan and with the concentrated power of acerola and amla.

rubyni® Vitamin C can help you to cover your daily vitamin C requirements from the best fruits. We obtain the vital substance from high-quality, sustainably grown acerola cherries and Indian gooseberries (amla). The special thing about this is that the so-called fruit matrix is preserved during gentle processing. This means that the vitamin C is embedded in a natural network full of valuable plant substances.
Acerola comes from Brazil and is one of the fruits with the highest vitamin C content in the world: 100 grams (g) of the fully ripe fruit can contain up to 2,000 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C.5 Amla spoils you with around 600 to 700 milligrams per 100 grams of fruit.6 By comparison, a lemon contains just 53 milligrams of vitamin C per 100 grams of fruit.7

How much vitamin C does your body need?
Your body can neither produce nor store vitamin C itself. You must therefore regularly consume sufficient amounts with food.8 But what exactly does this mean?
The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a daily intake of 95 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C for women. For men it is 110 milligrams per day. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or smoking, you have a higher daily vitamin C requirement. 2 However, people who work hard physically, suffer from infections or are under stress also have an increased vitamin C requirement.9
The European Union (EU) specifies a requirement of 80 milligrams of vitamin C per day for both sexes. This is the so-called nutrient reference value (NRV for short). This is used as a guide in the manufacture of food supplements when it comes to the dosage of vitamins and minerals.10
Well supplied with rubyni® Vitamin C
One rubyni® Vitamin C capsule contains 212 milligrams of vitamin C – this corresponds to 266% of the daily vitamin C requirement according to the nutrient reference value (NRV*). Two capsules contain 425 milligrams of vitamin C, i.e. 531 % according to NRV*.
Recommended intake: We recommend taking 1-2 capsules of rubyni® vitamin C per day. This is possible at any time of day – but you should not take the capsules on an empty stomach. If you take two capsules of rubyni® Vitamin C per day, ideally divide them into two portions. This is the best way for your body to absorb the vitamin C. Always take the capsules with plenty of water and without chewing.
*Nutrient reference value (for adults according to the Food Information Regulation (FIR))
rubyni® vitamin C at a glance: What’s in our capsules
rubyni® Vitamin C is a food supplement that provides you with high doses of vitamin C from natural sources. We use two different fruits, acerola and amla.
Ingredients:
- Organic acerola fruit powder (from Malpighia glabra, freeze-dried, 20 % vitamin C)
- Organic amla fruit extract (from Emblica officinalis, 50 % vitamin C)
- Coating agent hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (plant-based capsule shell, certified vegan)
Vitamin C is also known as ascorbic acid. However, if this term is used on a food supplement, it usually refers to ascorbic acid that has been produced synthetically, i.e. artificially. With our rubyni® vitamin C capsules, however, we provide you with vitamin C that is embedded in its natural fruit matrix.
Good to know: As vitamin C is an acid, fruits with a high vitamin C content usually taste sour. If your teeth come into contact with large amounts of the acid, it can attack the tooth enamel. This is not a problem with our practical rubyni® vitamin C capsules: they are swallowed whole. 11
Pack size: 180 capsules – in a tin made from recycled PET.
Note: Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or to replace a healthy lifestyle.

Best fruit – sustainable cultivation
Our rubyni® vitamin C capsules contain only pure fruit. They provide you with 100% natural vitamin C from two types of superfood: acerola and amla. The fruits are grown sustainably and organically.
We only use the best fruits for our organic acerola fruit powder from Brazil. They are gently freeze-dried so that the full fruit matrix of the acerola cherry is preserved. In addition to vitamin C, this contains many other valuable components, such as digestive fibre.
Our organic amla fruit extract contains the best of the so-called Indian gooseberry. It comes from the highlands of Ooty, among other places. This region in India is known for the cultivation of high-quality amla. Our fruits are processed gently so that we can guarantee you the highest purity and quality – without any artificial additives.
Good to know:
Vitamin C: for your connective tissue and a building block for the immune system
Vitamin C is an essential vital substance. Among other things, your body needs it to produce collagen. Collagens are certain proteins that make up the main component of your connective tissue – which in turn is involved in the formation of blood vessels, skin, bones, cartilage, gums and teeth. Vitamin C therefore contributes to the normal function of all these different tissues.2,3 A deficiency can, for example, increase the risk of bleeding gums.12
Do you often feel tired and exhausted? Then it could also be that you are not consuming enough vitamin C. This is because one of the tasks of this vital substance is to keep your energy metabolism in balance.1
However, vitamin C is also essential for many other processes in the body. 2,3
Without sufficient vitamin C, your immune defence is not fully effective. This is because it helps certain cells of the immune system to mature and multiply – and enables them to find and fight pathogens.13,14
Just like our berry extracts15 , vitamin C also has an antioxidant effect. This means that it can protect your cells from damage caused by so-called free radicals. These are reactive molecules that occur naturally in the metabolism and can attack the body’s cells.16
Did you know that the highest concentration of vitamin C is found in your brain? This is where its antioxidant effect is important, as it reduces inflammatory processes. The vitamin also supports the development and function of the nervous system and the production of certain messenger substances in the brain, known as neurotransmitters.17
A sufficiently high vitamin C level also has a positive effect on your mood: In people with depressive symptoms, a high-dose vitamin C intake can brighten the mood.17 A lack of vitamin C, on the other hand, can be associated with mood swings and mental impairment. Studies indicate this.18
Do you eat a vegetarian or vegan diet? Vitamin C can help you prevent an iron deficiency: with its help, the body can better utilise iron from plant-based foods. This includes pulses, oatmeal and pumpkin seeds, for example.6
Heat-sensitive vital substance
Foods such as fruit, vegetables and herbs contain plenty of vitamin C when freshly harvested. However, the content can vary greatly and depends, for example, on the ripeness of the produce. The vitamin is also sensitive to heat and is (partially) lost through cooking. Storing food for longer also often reduces its vitamin C content.2,3
rubyni® Vitamin C can prevent an undersupply of vitamin C and help to remedy a deficiency. With the help of the practical capsules, you can easily cover your daily vitamin C requirement from natural sources: our food supplement always provides you with a constant dose of the important vital substance.

As a former professional athlete and health-conscious person, my physical performance and well-being are extremely important to me. That's why I take rubyni® with elderberry - it's now part of my daily routine. I am convinced of the positive effects of elderberries on my immune system, my energy balance and my fitness, especially during regeneration after periods of stress

I work as a nutrition and health consultant and am a trained phytotherapist. Transparency, sustainability, and quality are very important to me. And I have to say that rubyni® has completely convinced me as a brand. The capsules contain only extremely high-quality and natural ingredients whose effectiveness has been proven by studies and which supply the body with important nutrients. On my YouTube channel Ohlala & Solala I have published some videos about my personal rubyni® journey. There I share even more about what makes this supplement so special from my point of view.

As a biathlete, I have to be in top shape and perform to the letter. I had big problems with that in the past. My body was always weakened and I had to accept many setbacks. When I was looking for a solution to support my immune system permanently, I found elderberries as a superfood through my alternative practitioner. In the meantime, I take rubyni® with elderberries daily. The capsules are also super handy when I'm on the road in the World Cup. rubyni® is a valuable help for me in stressful competition phases and my immune system is finally back on top.

For more than 25 years, my focus has been on holistic, naturopathic medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional and biological topics. During this time, I have intensively studied current research findings (e.g. on orthomolecular medicine, epigenetics, nutrigenomics, phytotherapy). I found rubyni's philosophy of using total extracts with the complete efficacy profile of the entire fruit matrix exciting and convincing from the very beginning. That's why I was happy to take on the task of developing new products that would contain rubyni , but at the same time - in the sense of a synergism of effects - other ingredients for a specific purpose. rubyni® Visio now contains carefully coordinated ingredients that are specially formulated to meet the specific needs of the eyes. Valuable plant extracts and micronutrients have been combined to form a high-quality dietary supplement. This helps to maintain eye health and support vision.
