rubyni vitamin D: natural vitamin D for your health

Have you ever heard of the “sun vitamin”? This euphonious term refers to vitamin D, which our body can produce itself – provided our skin is regularly exposed to sufficient sunlight.

Vitamin D has many important functions: We need it for strong bones, healthy teeth and strong muscles, but also as an important building block for a powerful immune system. A good supply of vitamin D is also important for pregnant women so that the child grows up healthy.

But we can’t always get enough sun in our everyday lives. An undersupply of vitamin D is therefore widespread in Germany. With rubyni vitamin D you can specifically prevent a deficiency.

  • Helps maintain normal bones and reduces the risk of osteoporosis1
  • Can counteract excessive tiredness2
  • Is an important building block for a powerful immune system
  • Supports cell division and is therefore also important for pregnant women3
  • 100 % vegan vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) from GMO-free algae
  • 1 capsule provides 20 µg = 800 International Units (IU) of vitamin D3
  • Free from colorings and flavorings and without preservatives

rubyni Vitamin D can help you to cover your daily requirement of the vital substance from a natural and purely plant-based source. We obtain our vitamin D from selected algae and ensure the highest quality through careful processing. Our capsules contain the vitamin in the form of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). The body can easily absorb this form and utilize it directly. Absorption is supported by the other high-quality ingredients: vitamin E and organic broccoli powder.

A group of four young people, three girls, one boy, run through the shallow sea on the beach, arms up in jubilation, water splashing. It is sunset.

How much vitamin D does our body need?

If sufficient sunlight hits our skin, this stimulates the body’s own production of vitamin D. Ideally, the body can meet its needs through this practical mechanism. However, in the winter months in our latitudes, the intensity of the sun is not sufficient for vitamin D production.1,4 And even in summer, we often spend time indoors – or only go out into the sun well protected in order to sensibly avoid sunburn. We generally only absorb small amounts of vitamin D through our diet. It is found, for example, in egg yolk, liver and fatty fish such as salmon.1,4
Around 15 percent of German adults have a pronounced vitamin D deficiency. And more than half of all Germans are at least deficient. This was determined by the German Cancer Research Center (dkfz) in 2023.5

    All about our capsules

One rubyni vitamin D capsule provides you with 20 micrograms, i.e. 800 IU, of the important vitamin D3 – and makes an important contribution to your health with its good dosage. The amount corresponds to 400 % of the daily requirement according to the nutrient reference value (NRV*) – and exactly the amount recommended by the DGE if you do not make your own.
At the same time, rubyni Vitamin D provides you with 3.6 milligrams (mg) of vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol) per capsule – corresponding to 30 % of the daily requirement according to NRV*.6 We have added it to improve the bioavailability, i.e. the absorption of vitamin D.
Vitamin E is one of the antioxidants that can render so-called free radicals harmless. Free radicals occur naturally in our body and can damage cells.7
Vitamin D can be taken at any time of the day. As vitamin D and E are fat-soluble vitamins, we recommend taking the capsules together with a little fat in the form of a good vegetable oil or with a meal – one capsule of rubyni vitamin D per day.

    Good to know:

Without vitamin D, bones and immune defenses suffer

Vitamin D is essential for numerous processes in the body. Its importance for bone health and the immune system is best known.1,4 However, our muscles and many other important functions also rely on this vital substance.

Vitamin D helps to keep our bones strong and our teeth healthy. This is because it regulates the balance of two substances that are essential for the stability of bones and teeth: Calcium and phosphate. A vitamin D deficiency can therefore increase the risk of bone loss.1,4 Osteoporosis particularly affects women after the menopause. Those who ensure stable bones from a young age are in a better position when natural bone loss sets in from midlife.9
Vitamin D is also essential for the normal functioning of our immune system.4 For example, it has an anti-inflammatory effect and activates white blood cells, which are responsible for defending against pathogens, among other things.10 A vitamin D deficiency can make us more susceptible to infections, for example. A good vitamin D level, on the other hand, can protect us from acute respiratory diseases, such as the common cold.11

The woman stands sideways with her upper body upright, places her hands on her lower back and stretches in a relaxed manner to loosen her muscles.

    Better recovery for your muscles

Cell division and cell repair, the formation of proteins and the maintenance of muscle function: our body also relies on this versatile vital substance for these processes. If we lack vitamin D, this can lead to bone, joint and muscle pain as well as muscle weakness.1
Vitamin D is essential for pregnant women so that the unborn child can grow well and form healthy bones. A deficiency can also endanger the health of the expectant mother: It increases the risk of pregnancy complications such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

What are the health benefits of vitamin D?

Vitamin D supports your body’s health in many ways13:

    Vitamin D

    • contributes to the normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus
    • contributes to a normal calcium level in the blood
    • contributes to the maintenance of normal bones
    • contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function
    • contributes to the maintenance of normal teeth
    • contributes to the normal function of the immune system
    • has a function in cell division

    Expert in nutritional medicine

For more than 25 years, my focus has been on holistic, naturopathic medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional medicine and biological topics. During this time, I have studied current research findings (e.g. on orthomolecular medicine, epigenetics, nutrigenomics, phytotherapy) in depth. From the outset, I found rubyni's philosophy of using whole fruit extracts with the complete effect profile of the entire fruit matrix exciting and convincing. That is why I was happy to take on the task of developing new products that would contain rubyni but also, in the spirit of synergistic effects, other ingredients for a specific purpose.
