For our rubyni Curcuma Plus, we use two plant-based ingredients that are well-known in the Ayurvedic tradition: Our vegan capsules contain extracts of ginger and turmeric.
The deep yellow-orange rhizome of the turmeric plant is also known as “yellow root”—it owes its color to the curcumin it contains. Ginger is valued, among other things, for its pungent compounds. Thanks to our convenient capsule form, these are generally not noticeable when taken.1,2,3

- One capsule provides you with 16 mg of ginger’s active compounds: gingerols and shogaols

Curcumin, Gingerole, and More: The Versatility of Phytochemicals
A balanced diet provides you with a variety of nutrients. These include
- Macronutrients: proteins, fats and carbohydrates
- Micronutrients: vitamins, minerals and trace elements
- Secondary plant compounds, such aspolyphenols4,5
The group of phytochemicals comprises well over 100,000 substances found in various foods. They serve different functions in plants: Some protect them from environmental influences, while others give plants their color, scent, or flavor.5,6
These include curcumin, a polyphenol and the primary yellow pigment in turmeric rhizomes. Gingerols and shogaols are also among the secondary plant compounds. They are responsible for the pungent flavor of ginger rhizomes.2,3,7

Curcumin: A Matter of Dosage—and Body Weight
3 mg of curcumin per kilogram (kg) of body weight (KG) per day—the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) specifies this amount as the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI). The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) also refers to this value: According to its assessment, the total intake of curcumin should not exceed 3 mg/kg body weight per day over the long term. This calculation includes all sources of intake, such as spices, dietary supplements, and food additives.8
rubyni® Curcuma Plus at a Glance
rubyni Curcuma Plus is a dietary supplement made from three plant-based ingredients:
- The turmeric (Curcuma longa) used in our high-quality extract comes from India. Its root is gently processed. In the resulting turmeric extract, the active compounds are present in combination with other plant-based components. It combines both water-soluble and fat-soluble components of the turmeric root.
These include the curcuminoids, the characteristic yellow pigments of turmeric. The most important of these is curcumin9. - Our ginger (Zingiberofficinale) also comes from India and is gently processed
- The parsley leaf powder comes from German organic farming and is made from parsley (Petroselinum crispum) harvested fresh from the field. The leaves are carefully washed, destemmed, and gently dried with warm air to preserve their natural color. The result is a high-quality, deep-green powder that represents responsibly processed, high-quality raw materials.
Compared to the natural raw materials, our extracts have two characteristics:
- They are of consistently high quality and standardized to specified levels of certain ingredients.
- In addition, the capsules provide a way to consume the active compounds in ginger without them coming into direct contact with the oral mucosa when swallowed.
Ginger: known for its spicy flavor
Ginger (Zingiberofficinale) is also—unsurprisingly—a member of the ginger family. Its rhizome has long been used in Far Eastern cuisine. But the rhizome has also been known in Central Europe since the Middle Ages.12
Two capsaicinoids are responsible for the fiery, sharp, and spicy flavor:13,14
- Gingerol: mainly contained in fresh ginger; it converts to shogaol when heated or dried
- Shogaol: from the dried rhizome; it is even hotter than gingerol
However, when taking rubyni Curcuma Plus, the characteristic spiciness of ginger is generally not noticeable thanks to the capsule form.
Turmeric and Ginger: A Duo from Faraway Lands
In the Far East, turmeric and ginger have a long history and are known, for example, from Ayurveda. Both plants have been used there as spices for centuries and are an integral part of many traditional recipes. Both members of the ginger family are particularly prized in India—the country of origin of our raw materials.
Good to know:
Turmeric: This golden-yellow spice is incredibly versatile
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) belongs to the ginger family. Its rootstock, the rhizome, resembles that of ginger but is smaller and has an intense orange color. When you prepare fresh turmeric in the kitchen, it stains heavily: your hands, knives, cutting boards, and countertops will all turn yellow-orange afterward—so it’s best to wear gloves while preparing it.
When dried and ground, the powder has an intense golden-yellow color. This is due to the compound curcumin, which also gives many curry blends their characteristic yellow color. Curcumin makes up the largest portion of the curcuminoids, which belong to the polyphenol group. In addition, the spice has a mild heat and a slightly bitter note.2,10,11

I work as a nutrition and health consultant and am a trained phytotherapist. Transparency, sustainability and quality are very important to me. And I have to say that rubyni® has completely won me over as a brand. The capsules contain only extremely high-quality and natural ingredients whose effectiveness has been proven by studies and which provide the body with important nutrients. I have published several videos about my personal rubyni® journey on my YouTube channel Ohlala & Solala. There I tell you even more about what makes this dietary supplement so special from my point of view.
Hanna Kebinger
Biathlete
As a biathlete, I have to be fit and able to perform at the drop of a hat. I had big problems with that in the past. My body was repeatedly weakened and I had to put up with many setbacks. When I was looking for a solution to support my immune system in the long term, my naturopath introduced me to elderberries as a superfood, among other things. I now take rubyni® with elderberries every day. The capsules are also super handy when I'm on the World Cup circuit. Rubyni® is a valuable aid for me during stressful competition phases and my immune system is finally back on top form.
