rubyni CaMag MINERALS: Calcium & magnesium from a natural source

Strength, smooth movements and good stamina – strengths like these not only enable you to face new challenges in sport. They also help you to master the small and large tasks of the day full of energy at work and in everyday life.

Keeping the body healthy and efficient requires more than just regular exercise. It is just as important to supply it with sufficient minerals. When it comes to the well-being of your bones, muscles and nerves, the interaction of two minerals is particularly important: calcium and magnesium.
rubyni CaMag MINERALSTOFFE contains calcium and magnesium in a balanced ratio for bones and teeth.

  • For healthy bones and good teeth1-4
  • Promotes mineral balance and contributes to electrolyte balance1-4
  • Supports normal signal transmission between nerve cells1-4
  • Contributes to normal muscle function and supports your energy metabolism1-4
  • Made from the finest dolomite rock flour (calcium magnesium carbonate) and marine coral sand (coral calcium)
  • Only 1 to 2 capsules daily
  • 100% vegan, lactose- and gluten-free

rubyni CaMag MINERALSTOFFE can help you to cover your daily requirement of the two minerals calcium and magnesium from natural sources. The quantities of vital substances contained in our capsules have been optimally balanced.

How much calcium and magnesium does your body need?

The two minerals are found naturally in different foods. Calcium is mainly found in dairy products, but also in green vegetables such as broccoli, kale and rocket. Good sources of magnesium are wholemeal products, pulses, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds.

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends consuming the following amounts of minerals:

  • 1000 milligrams (mg) of calcium daily – for both women and men1 – and
  • 300 milligrams of magnesium daily for women and 350 milligrams for men.3

The European Union (EU) specifies the following values for both sexes as so-called nutrient reference values (NRVs for short)5:

  • 800 milligrams of calcium daily and
  • 375 milligrams of magnesium daily

These values serve as guidelines for the dosage of minerals in the manufacture of food supplements.

Experts recommend consuming calcium and magnesium in an approximate ratio of 2:1. This means that the amount of calcium should be about twice as large as the amount of magnesium. This allows the two vital substances to interact optimally in your body. 6,7

If you are very active in sports, you may have a slightly higher requirement. This is because more of the important minerals are lost from the body through sweating. They should therefore be replaced accordingly.

All about our capsules

One capsule of rubyni CaMag MINERALSTOFFE contains 450 milligrams of sea coral powder and 400 milligrams of dolomite rock flour. This contains 176 milligrams of calcium (22 % according to NRV*) and 97 milligrams of magnesium (26 % according to NRV*).
Two capsules contain 900 milligrams of sea coral powder and 800 milligrams of dolomite rock flour. Together this makes 352 milligrams of calcium (44 % according to NRV*) and 194 milligrams of magnesium (52 % according to NRV*).

Recommended intake: Take one to two capsules daily with plenty of water without chewing. If you take 2 capsules a day, we recommend that you do not take them together, but spread them throughout the day. This is because the body can absorb more calcium from the intestine if you take the mineral throughout the day. In addition, you should not use any other calcium-containing food supplements without consulting a doctor.

Recommended daily intake: Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

High quality and natural

The minerals calcium and magnesium in our rubyni CaMag MINERALSTOFFE capsules come from high-quality mineral sources:

Dolomite rock flour (calcium magnesium carbonate) is a so-called sedimentary rock that is naturally formed by calcareous deposits. It is characterized by a stable content of calcium (~21 %) and magnesium (~10 %). The rock is mined in Germany and ground into a fine flour for our capsules.

The coral calcium powder in our capsules comes from the Okinawa Islands in Japan. The marine coral sand is also an excellent natural source of calcium (~20 %) and magnesium (~10 %).

Good to know:

Calcium and magnesium: strong together

Together, calcium and magnesium build healthy teeth and help to keep your bones strong and resilient. This is because they consist largely of crystals that are made up of minerals such as calcium, phosphate and magnesium. Did you know that more than half of the body’s magnesium is found in your bones?8

Bone density naturally decreases from midlife onwards. If the loss is more pronounced, experts speak of osteoporosis or bone loss. Experts recommend a diet with sufficient calcium to prevent osteoporosis. However, magnesium also plays an important role: studies have shown that people with low levels of magnesium in their blood are often diagnosed with bone loss.9

Indispensable not only for sports

Calcium and magnesium also have many other important functions in the body. 1-4

For example, magnesium regulates nerve and muscle function, blood sugar levels and blood pressure. In total, the mineral is necessary for over 600 enzymes that control numerous processes in the body. 3,4

Calcium and magnesium are also needed to transmit nerve impulses, for example to your muscles. 4,10 You probably know that a magnesium deficiency can cause painful calf cramps, and not just during sport. However, calcium also supports muscle contraction in your body, i.e. the tensing and relaxing of muscles, and is therefore necessary for your movements and coordination. A deficiency can cause your muscles to tremble or cramp. 10

Calcium is also an important component of cell membranes and thus ensures stable cells. It also supports energy metabolism, blood clotting and the balance of your hormones and enzymes. 1,2

Two golden scales hang from fine chains and symbolize a balanced equilibrium against a neutral background.

Calcium and magnesium: ensure a balanced ratio

The two minerals can have the best effect in your body if they are present in a balanced ratio to each other. This means that if you specifically take higher amounts of calcium, you should also adjust your intake of magnesium accordingly. If your body has significantly more calcium available than magnesium, this can have a negative effect on your health.7

Experts recommend a ratio of calcium to magnesium (Ca:Mag) of between 1.7 and 2.6.7 With our rubyni CaMag MINERALSTOFFE you are exactly right: it provides you with calcium and magnesium in a ratio of 1.8:1.

What are the health benefits of calcium and magnesium?

The two minerals calcium and magnesium are essential for different functions in your body11:

  • contributes to normal energy metabolism
  • contributes to normal muscle function
  • contributes to normal signal transmission between nerve cells
  • contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes
  • has a function in cell division and specialization
  • is required for the maintenance of normal bones
  • is required for the maintenance of normal teeth

As a biathlete, I have to be fit and able to perform at the drop of a hat. I had big problems with that in the past. My body was repeatedly weakened and I had to put up with many setbacks. When I was looking for a solution to support my immune system in the long term, my naturopath introduced me to elderberries as a superfood, among other things. I now take rubyni® with elderberries every day. The capsules are also super handy when I'm on the World Cup circuit. Rubyni® is a valuable aid for me during stressful competition phases and my immune system is finally back on top form.

Expert in nutritional medicine

For more than 25 years, my focus has been on holistic, naturopathic medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional medicine and biological topics. During this time, I have studied current research findings (e.g. on orthomolecular medicine, epigenetics, nutrigenomics, phytotherapy) in depth. From the outset, I found rubyni's philosophy of using whole fruit extracts with the complete effect profile of the entire fruit matrix exciting and convincing. That is why I was happy to take on the task of developing new products that would contain rubyni but also, in the spirit of synergistic effects, other ingredients for a specific purpose.
