One capsule contains 306 mg of curry leaf extract and provides 11 mg of iron. The equals 79% of the daily requirement according to NRV*. In addition, each capsule contains Contains 25 mg of amla fruit extract, which provides 12 mg of vitamin C (15% of the NRV*).
In addition, each capsule contains 85 mg of olive fruit extract with 21 mg of polyphenols, including 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol.

How much iron does your body need?
Your body cannot produce iron on its own, so it must obtain this essential trace element through your diet. The main sources include liver, meat, and processed meats. But whole-grain products and oatmeal, seeds such as sunflower seeds, and vegetables such as legumes, spinach, and lamb’s lettuce also contain iron.2
The German Nutrition Society (DGE)recommends4 a daily intake of
- 11 milligrams of iron for men,
- 16 mg for women up to the menopause (the last menstrual period),
- 14 mg for women after the menopause,
- 11 mg for women (and girls) who are not menstruating (for example, with oral contraceptives (the pill) that are taken continuously without a break),
- 27 mg for pregnant women.
The European Union (EU) specifies a uniform “nutrient reference value” (NRV for short) of 14 mg of iron per day for both genders and all age groups (adults).5 This value serves as a guideline for the dosage of this trace element in the manufacture of dietary supplements.
What should you look out for when taking iron supplements?
Iron supplements are often taken on an empty stomach. This is because various components of food can affect the body’s absorption of iron. Among the so-called “iron-binding agents” are, amongothers, 5,6
- Calcium: It is contained in dairy products, for example.
- Phytic acid (phytate): Wholemeal products and pulses in particular contain plenty of it.
- Phenolic compounds such as tannins: They are found in abundance in coffee, green and black tea, and red wine, for example.7
- Foods containing oxalic acid: These include, for example, rhubarb, spinach, and beets.8
Therefore, it may be best to take it between meals. We recommend taking your daily Rubyni Iron Plus capsule away from meals (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal)—with plenty of water and without chewing.
However, men, postmenopausal women, and pregnant women should consult their doctor or therapist before taking iron supplements.

One capsule of rubyni Iron Plus provides 11 mg of iron—that’s 79% of the daily value according to the NRV*.
In addition, our product contains 12 mg of vitamin C (15% of the NRV*). Vitamin C enhances iron absorption.
In addition, each capsule of rubyni Iron Plus contains 85 mg of olive fruit extract. This contains 21 mg of phytochemicals—specifically, polyphenols—including 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol.

Why does rubyni® Iron Plus also contain vitamin C?
In foods of animal origin, iron occurs as so-called bivalent iron (Fe2+, heme iron), which your body can easily absorb. If the mineral comes from plant-based foods (non-heme iron), it is trivalent iron (Fe3+).5
Vitamin C increases the body’s absorption of iron.1 For this reason, we decided to include vitamin C in the form of amla fruit extract in our rubyni Iron Plus.

rubyni Iron Plus is a dietary supplement containing iron and vitamin C derived from natural plant extracts:
Leaves from the curry tree (Murraya koenigii), which is grown under certified organic conditions in India, contain plant-based iron. The iron compound is extracted from the curry leaves using a water-based process—without the addition of any other ingredients—thereby largely preserving the natural plant matrix.
This natural source of iron, with its balanced dosage, is particularly well-suited for vegetarian and vegan diets.
Amla fruit extract provides natural vitamin C, which is present in its natural form as ascorbate. The amla fruits are organically grown in India, more precisely in Tamil Nadu and the highlands of Ooty, a region known for the cultivation of high-quality amla. They are processed gently.
In addition, our product contains an olive extract (Olea europaea). Approximately 240 kilograms (kg) of olives are used to produce 1 kg of extract—resulting in a high concentration of active ingredients. These ingredients are largely preserved through a gentle processing method.

Iron: The “oxygen cab” in your body
Iron is an essential trace element and must be obtained through the diet. “Trace element” means that your body needs only trace amounts—that is, very small amounts—of it. Nevertheless, it performs many important functions.2,4
Iron contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body as well as to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the red pigment that gives blood its red color: this iron-containing protein is the most important component of your red blood cells and can bind oxygen. The red blood cells transport oxygen to the cells of your body.3,9
Iron also contributes to normal energy metabolism – as well as to reducing tiredness and fatigue. Energy is produced in the mitochondria, the power plants of your cells. Iron is a component of special protein building blocks that play an important role in this process.
It is therefore important to ensure an adequate intake of iron through your diet. In certain situations, dietary supplements can help meet your daily iron needs. It is best to consult your doctor or therapist for advice on this matter.

1. What makes rubyni Iron Plus so special?
rubyni Iron Plus consists of several plant extracts: curry leaves—the leaves of the Indian curry tree—contain plant-based iron. Our product is rounded out by an olive extract containing phytochemicals (polyphenols), including hydroxytyrosol and tyrosol.
2. In what form is the iron present in rubyni Eisen Plus?
Iron occurs in the bivalent (Fe2+) or trivalent (Fe3+) form. The former is found in foods of animal origin and is called heme iron. The latter comes from plant-based foods such as curry leaves and is referred to as non-heme iron. Vitamin C can increase iron absorption. That is why rubyni Iron Plus contains not only curry leaf extract but also amla fruit extract, which provides natural vitamin C.

Yes, rubyni Iron Plus consists of 100% vegan ingredients in a vegetable capsule (made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose): The curry tree leaves provide iron, and the vitamin C comes from an amla fruit extract. Both plants are certified organic. The supplement also contains an olive extract that provides 5 mg of hydroxytyrosol—a polyphenol. All ingredients are lactose- and gluten-free.
